This is my wife Char in Hawaii

Hi, I'm Bob, and I've started teaching math at Aurora University in 1977 and retired in 2006. I grew up and graduated from high school in Woodstock, IL. I received my B.A. from Wheaton College in Illinois in 1963, and taught at Farragut High School in Chicago from 1963 to 1966. At that time, I moved to Champaign, IL, to pursue a master's degree in math and a girl I knew down there (I got both!). In 1967, I began teaching at the brand new Parkland Junior College in Champaign, and finished my M.A. in math and got married in 1968. In 1970 my bride and I moved to Huntington, Indiana (Dan Quayle's home town) to teach at Huntington College. While at Huntington, I did most of the course work for a master's degree in computer science and got into ham radio. My wife and I also purchased Schwinn Suburban model bicycles in 1971, and we still have them. In 1977, we moved to Aurora, and I began teaching at AU. In 1980, my wife and I enrolled in a roller skating class at a local roller rink. In 1981, I took flying lessons from a friend and became a licensed pilot in October of that year. At age 63, I am beginning to plan ahead toward retirement; in 1992, my wife and I bought a house in Hawaii for that purpose. We generally spend three weeks over there in the summers. The photo at the right is my wife and I on Captain Bean's Cruise in August of 1994. The link includes a full-size high resolution copy of the this photo for you fella's that would like a better look at that cute little wahine standing on my right (the cute wahine on my left is in a photo whose link is at the top of this page). Incidentally, that cute wahine on my left is a psychologist with a private practice here in Aurora. I'm sure lucky - free psychological service whenever I want it (or whenever she thinks I need it!). Due to her occupation, I do maintain quite a list of bookmarks in the field of psychology.

Another activity very important to both my wife and I is our church, the Aurora Advent Christian Church (no, we don't go to church on Saturday; the Advent Christian denomination, though related to the Seventh-Day Adventists, is not quite the same). My wife is an elder there, and I serve as a head deacon. Here are some links to Christian resources on the net.

I'm sure my wife would say I have one other hobby - surfing the Internet. I certainly do enjoy this new technology, and find much to intrigue me, particularly concerning my hobbies. E-mail is a wonderful way to make new friends and keep in touch with old ones. I've corresponded by e-mail with folks I knew years ago and hadn't written to in ages. I'd love to find out about you - please feel free to contact me at bdillon@aurora.edu . I hope to hear from you soon.
