I'm by no means a
competitive biker, nor a fast one. I'm also not in the century club - the
farthest I've bicycled in one day is 50 miles, and that was several years
ago. Prior to my skating injury, I did take
frequent 40 mile rides during the summer months. There are several nature
trails in the Aurora area, and one begins in Aurora and goes north along
the Fox River for about 40 miles. There are two advantages to a trail
along a river: it tends to be pretty level, and it has quite a bit of
shade. This one also has several water fountains along the way, and some
very nice scenery. I didn't get a chance to ride it in 1995 due to my
knee injury, but hope to be back at it in 1996.
